Find Private Placement Information Faster & Easier

So you are an accredited investor and you want to find a private investment. Where do you go? By definition, they can't be advertised so you won't find them in the Wall Street Journal or popping up on Google AdWords.

A quick search of the internet under "accredited investor"
quickly leads you to web sites that have a primary goal of pitching services to you that are not usefull or relevant. They will sell you lists of accredited investors, put you in touch with borkers, and help you write business plans. What you won't easily find is an actual investment to put your money into.

OK, so ty to searching on "private placement." The first listings you will be hit with are, again, service providers. Lawyers, leads for accredited investors, you name it. You will also find large private placments for realatively traditional investments.

What if you want to find a start-up company? A company in a specific industry? The offerings themselves, along with contact information?

My blog will provide two solutions:

1. A search engine optimized to find private placement opportunities. Find it on the right hand column and give it a try. Get specific, such as "Green energy private offering" or "Biotech private placements."

2. This blog will start posting private offerings as it finds them. They will be offerings within the United States and it will be raw information- no commentary or recommendations. You will get information such as industry, contact information, and perhaps a brief description of the nature of the offering.

Please bookmarket this blog, add it to your blog reader, and then come back. Use the search engine or search the blog for investment opportunities that you may not be able to find anywhere else.

One of the challenges of finding information on accredited investors and private placements is the amount of selling and pitching services that are not useful or relevant.

Use the Accredited Investor Search Engine along the right hand side of this blog that was developed by David Safeer to more accurately find information pertinent to accredited investors.

Maetec LLC: Renewable, Green Power for the Pacific Isles & Beyond

Maetec LLC just opened a private placement for accredited investors to raise capital. Maetec LLC is focused on a wind-to-hydrogen electricity generation, focusing on ocean-based wind power. There is a need on Pacific Islands to replace expensive diesel-fuel generated electricity with a more economic and environmentally friendly alternative. Maetec has a solution.

Some of the advantages of ocean wind:
- Ocean winds are more sustained than land based
- Ocean winds are stronger on average than land based

Advantages of Hydrogen generation vs. Electric:
- Easy to store hydrogen and less expensive than electric
- Hydrogen "stores" the electricity for use when needed

This posting does not do justice to the project. Go to http://maetecengineering.com/ for more information about the company. Contact David Fahrney at (310) 720-3247 for more informationi about the private placement offering.

The Definition of An Accredited Investor

Most people do not know what an accreditor investor is.  Most accredited investors do not realize that the are accredited.  When introduced to the concept some people think that they need to make an application or pass a test.

Being an accredited investor is actually defined by the SEC and qualifies an individual or entity to invest in ceertain investments that are exempt from registration.

For all of the details of the rules, go to the SEC website and read the details:  http://www.sec.gov/answers/accred.htm .

In general, for an individual to be accredited the fall into one or more of the following:

  • a director, executive officer, or general partner of the company selling the securities;
  • natural person who has individual net worth, or joint net worth with the person’s spouse, that exceeds $1 million at the time of the purchase;
  • a natural person with income exceeding $200,000 in each of the two most recent years or joint income with a spouse exceeding $300,000 for those years and a reasonable expectation of the same income level in the current year;

Do you fall into any one of these categories?  Do you hope and plan to some day?  Then this blog is for you.  We will expore private investments, what they are, how to read an offering, cautions, and where to find them.

Of course, this is an educational blog and before making any investment you should consolut with an attorney, accountant, or investment advisor.

Alternative Investments and Creative Real Estate

My partners have been asking me to start writing about alternative investments and creative real estate for a while now.

Alternative investments? Investments for accredited investors that the general public will never hear about that get much higher returns than traditional investments. On top of that, they often have less risk.

Creative real estate? Little to no cash in the deal, creative financing, and working with other peoples money to get what you want.

By the way, most people have never heard of an "accredited investor." That will be my next posting- defining the term.

I'll also talk about self-directed IRA's in my postings. Why? Again, most people have never heard of them and they are a great way to invest in alternative investments.
